Dangers of the HCG Diet

When people are deciding whether or not they should participate in the HCG Diet, they are concerned with the side-effects that they may experience while on the HCG Diet. This is a common concern that everyone has and they should make sure that they understated if there are any before starting the diet. However, the good news is that although there are some mild side-effects with the HCG injections, there are no known reported negative side-effects directly related to homeopathic oral HCG drops

Since the HCG Diet utilizes the HCG hormone that is found during pregnancy, many people may experience nausea as if they were pregnant. Headaches are a common side-effect since the person is limited the amount sugar and caffeine that they ingest, however, this does go away within a few days. Hunger is also one of the side-effects that subsides in a few days after the body gets use to the diet, as well as lack of energy. However, the energy does return and usually much better since the body is working on less fats and other bad fats that are usually ingested. Those that work out are going to find that they have more energy because of the natural endorphins that are being released in their body.

Some more serious side-effects are those that deal with those people that have blood sugar issues. With the diet the person could find that they are not able to regulate their own blood sugar, which could be bad for those that are dealing with high or low blood sugar. For those that have heart trouble, one of the side-effects that could possible happen is that they find that they have more heart trouble because of the diet, which is why the person should be sure that they talk to their doctor before starting this diet to ensure that there are no serious side-effects.

As with any diet program, it is best to consult with your doctor before starting the program.  Let your doctor know what diet plan you want to start and what the plan involves.  This way he or she can let you know how your body will handle it and if it is right for you.  Many people prefer going with the homeopathic drops as they tend to be safer and more hassle-free than the injections.  The injections can also be much more expensive.

Things to Think about with HCG Dieting

The HCG diet has people talking. This new diet fad has people that love it, and dropped almost miraculous amounts of weight in a short time. While others are saying it is not safe, and unsustainable for long periods.  So what’s the truth about HCG? Here are a few facts to think about when deciding if the HCG diet is right for you and your body.

The HCG diet is based on the person receiving injections, or taking homeopathic drops orally, of the hormone that is found in pregnant women. There are some risks with the injections which can include increased chances of clotting (which could be fatal), moodiness, and studies show that it does increase your chances of getting pregnant. The reason behind use of this hormone is that during pregnancy a mother’s body will use up fat stores on the butt, inner thighs and stomach to feed the fetus.  The good news is that taking the oral homeopathic HCG drops has no reported side effects and is much safer than injections.

When getting the hormone injections one also has to follow a very strict low calorie, no fat diet. Calories are limited to just five hundred per day, with no sugar or fat being allowed at all. It is also very low carbohydrate, with only one piece of Melba toast, or a breadstick allowed per day. Sweet fruit is not allowed at all.

The first you might be thinking is, won’t the weight come off consuming that low amount of
calories regardless of the HCG?  If you were to only consume 500 calories per day without HCG you would most likely become very ill, malnourished, weak, light-headed, and you may even gain weight! The 500-calorie diet is NOT intended to starve the body. HCG works by mobilizing excess fat that you would otherwise NEVER burn. Because it mobilizes the abnormal fat into the bloodstream to be used as energy,
you only need 500 calories per day. The rest of your calories are coming from all of that stored fat in your body.  After you drop the weight, discontinue the HCG, and go back to eating like a person instead of a bird, the weight could come back. There has to be some lifestyle changes made during the diet, or else it will fail.  These include regular exercise and eating healthy.  You won’t need to stick to only 500 calories a day but you should try to eat healthy so the weight won’t come back.
